Isabelle Thellen, ARP
Vice President
I’ve always enjoyed looking and leaping!
I am fascinated by change, especially since I tend to view the world with a curious eye. Both personality traits have served me well in my career so far: first at a research center on Quebec literature at Université de Montréal, then in the world of politics, and now in public relations at CASACOM, where I am fortunate enough to work with first-rate clients on some larger-than-life projects.
I’ve always been passionate about the wide world of politics. Whatever party you support, politics is an extraordinary lever for change, and it was behind my commitment to the Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean region, where I worked for seven years. I started off in culture, working for Festival Regard (which celebrates emerging talent in Quebec cinema), setting up the Saguenay Municipal Arts Council, and serving as vice chair of the Regional Culture Board. I then headed up the office of the Member for Chicoutimi, where I worked on a number of projects, including the Route 175 extension in Parc des Laurentides and special government agreements.
My master’s at ÉNAP left me with a finely tuned analytical mind, a mastery of management tools, and a keen interest in ethics.
In February 2006 I joined the ranks of CASACOM, where I have been vice president since 2007. I strive to meet my clients’ goals, notably on big projects like the extension of Highway 30, the Université de Montréal campus project, and the revitalization of the Viger hotel and station, a $400 million private investment project for which I have worked to put in place constructive dialogue with all stakeholders. For Gowlings—Canada’s biggest law firm—Aluminerie Alouette, and Tata Communications (formerly Téléglobe), I help prepare and apply communication strategies through media relations, speech writing, and expert/spokesperson training.
Look, but be sure to leap, too. That’s my rule of thumb!
What’s yours?
